After last week’s record-shattering field of 711 in the Super Tuesday, PokerStars’ weekly $1,050 no-limit hold’em tournament, it was no surprise to see another huge turnout this Tuesday. When late registration closed 689 had signed up — the second-largest field in the event’s history — and after more than 11-and-a-half hours it was Ludovic “ludovi333” Geilich playing from the U.K. who took down a first prize of $101,325.13 following a four-handed deal at the final table.
That big turnout meant a prize pool of $689,000, again well over twice the tourney’s $300K guarantee. The top 81 finishers got paid, and it would take more than five-and-a-half hours for the field to be carved down to 82 players and hand-for-hand play to commence.
That’s when Zimmy86 open-pushed all in for a little under 12 big blinds with A♦ 10♣ and got one caller in Team Online member Caio “Pessagno” Pessagno who held A♥ J♦ , and when the board came nine-high to give Zimmy86 no improvement, it appeared likely the latter would be eliminated just shy of the cash.
However, another hand taking a bit longer to play out on another table saw teruliro min-raise to 3,200 from middle position, then bluehawail reraise all in for 11,088 from the big blind and teruliro call. bluehawail had K♣ 7♠and teruliro 8♦ 8♣ , and when the board came 7♥ A♥ 2♣ 3♠J♥ it was bluehawail busting in 82nd place while Zimmy86 earned a minimum cash of $1,998.10.
At that point with the money having been reached it was eventual champ Ludovic “ludovi333” Geilich leading the way with Pessagno having secured a spot inside the top 10. More than three hours later they were down to 18 with ludovi333 still the chip leader while Pessagno had fallen back to short-stacked status.
Soon a hand arose that saw Griffin “Flush_Entity” Benger open-raise all in from the small blind and Pessagno call for his last 10 big blinds or so from the BB. Pessagno had the preflop edge with Aâ™ 6♥ against Benger’s Jâ™ 6â™ , but the 7♣ Q♥ Kâ™ J♦ 6♣ board gave Benger two pair to Pessagno’s one, sending the Team Online member out in 18th for a $5,167.50 cash.
uWannaLoan? (17th) and Nick “PureCash25” Rampone (16th) followed, also cashing for $5,167.50, then polareskimo (15th), Killer_ooooo (14th), and Ognjen “psjebemvas” Å ekularac (13th) successively busted to earn $6,545.50 apiece. Scott “Aggro Santos” Margereson (12th), OMGitshunt (11th), and nathkpk (10th) went out after that, each taking away $7,923.50, and with Jeremy “00psiedaisy” Fitzpatrick having moved out in front the final table was underway.

After the final table’s short stack marcyOG doubled up, the blinds were 4,500/9,000 when Ludovic “ludovi333” Geilich raised to 18,000 from the hijack seat, John “bullyon” Buglion reraised all in for 165,604 from the button, and Geilich called.
It was A♠Q♥ for ludovic333 adn 4♣ 4♠for bullyon. The 2♦ J♠Q♠flop paired Geilich, and after the 10♠turn and K♦ river, Buglion was out in ninth.
Alas for marcyOG, the end would come not too long after in a hand that saw Turko_man open with a 2x raise to 20,000 from the button, then marcyOG shove for 141,571 from the small blind and Turko_man call.
marcyOG had Q♥ Qâ™ versus Turko_man’s A♣ Q♣ . The community cards came 3♣ 3♦ A♥ 7♥ J♦ , giving Turko_man the better two pair and knocking marcyOG out in eighth.
The remaining seven played on, then in the final hand before the tournament’s 10-hour break the next knockout arrived, once again at the hands of Turko_man.
The blinds were up to 6,000/12,000, and Anton “antesvante” Wigg opened with a raise to 24,000 from early position. Ludovic “ludovi333” Geilich called the raise from the button, then Turko_man made it 71,555 to go from the small blind. It folded back to Wigg who shoved all in for 259,227 total, and after Geilich stepped aside Turko_man called the push.
Wigg showed Q♦ Q♣ but was in dire straits against Turko_man’s K♦ Kâ™ . The 4♣ 8â™ K♥ 6♥ J♦ board improved Turko_man further to a set, and antesvante was gone in seventh.
That sequence catapulted Turko_man into the top spot over the break as the first player to crack 1 million chips, with Jeremy “00psiedaisy” Fitzpatrick the nearest challenger with just over 600,000.
About 10 minutes after play resumed, fiscardddd min-raised to 28,000 from early position and got two callers in Ludovic “ludovi333” Geilich (small blind) and Turko_man (big blind). The flop came 2♣ 3â™ 10♦ and it checked to fiscardddd who bet 42,100. Only Geilich called. The turn brought the Kâ™ and a check from ludovi333, and when fiscardddd pushed all in for 169,923, ludovi333 called.
Geilich had K♦ J♦ and had turned a pair of kings while fiscardddd had an open-ended straight draw with Q♥ J♣ . The river was the 6♦ , and fiscardddd’s Super Tuesday run was over in sixth.
About 20 minutes after that the blinds had increased to 8,000/16,000 when Griffin “Flush_Entity” Benger open-pushed for 160,031 from the cutoff seat, then leader Turko_man reraised all in from the small blind to isolate.
Benger had 10♦ 8♦ and needed to improve against Turko_man’s A♣ K♦ . The 9♦ 8â™ 7♥ flop gave Flush_Entity both a pair and a straight draw, and the 2♣ turn was good for Benger, too. But the Kâ™ fell on the river to snatch the hand away, sending Flush_Entity railward in fifth.
The final four played a short while longer, then paused to discuss a possible deal. By then Ludovic “ludovi333” Geilich led with 1,267,278, QcKimo was next with 1,038,424, Turko_man third with 746,834, and Jeremy “00psiedaisy” Fitzpatrick fourth with 392,464. The four then agreed to a chop of the remaining prize money based on “ICM” calculations that left $6,000 for which to play, and soon the tourney was restarted.
They crossed the 11-hour mark for the tournament, then with the blinds at 10,000/20,000 a short-stacked Turko_man pushed all in for 206,412 from UTG, Jeremy “00psiedaisy” Fitzpatrick reraised all in from a seat over for 437,214, QcKimo folded from the small blind, and Ludovic “ludovi333” Geilich called from the big blind.

The flop came 7♣ 8♣ 2♣ , giving Turko_man the nut flush in a flash, and after the J♥ and 3♥ run out, Turko_man had tripled up while Jeremy “00psiedaisy” Fitzpatrick had been eliminated in fourth.
Not long after that hand it was QcKimo opening with a min-raise to 50,000 from the button and getting one caller in Turko_man in the big blind. The flop came 9♣ 4♥ 2♣ , and after checking and watching QcKimo continue for 50,000, Turko_man check-raised to 124,050. QcKimo fired back with a reraise big enough to put Turko_man all in, and the latter called with the 249,224 left.
QcKimo had top pair with K♦ 9♦ while Turko_man was gunning for another club flush with J♣ 7♣ . The 9♠turn made trips for QcKimo, then the 3♥ fell on fifth street, sending Turko_man railward in third.
Heads-up play began with Ludovic “ludovi333” Geilich in front with 2,031,115 to QcKimo’s 1,413,885. QcKimo soon closed the gap between the pair, then after trading the lead back and forth a couple of times pushed out to a better than 2-to-1 advantage over Geilich.
Geilich battled back, however, eventually retaking the lead. Then with the blinds up to 15,000/30,000 and ludovic333 in front with just over 1.82 million to QcKimo’s 1,62 million, the final hand arrived.
It began with a button raise to 60,000 by QcKimo, with Geilich three-betting to 172,678 and QcKimo calling. The flop came 4♣ 5♥ 7♣ . ludovi333 led for 199,999, QcKimo raised to 704.411, Geilich shoved, and QcKimo called.
QcKimo had K♥ 8♥ for a gutshot draw with a backdoor flush possibility while ludovi333 had J♠7♦ for top pair of sevens. The turn was the 4♦ and river the 9♣ , and Geilich had won.
The win continues a streak of success for Geilich which includes numerous deep runs including a final table and fourth-place finish at the EPT/UKIPT Main Event last October.
