The action is incessant and brutal.

Chang Rak Choi’s table broke, he moved to another and continued to chip up. Choi made it up to about 170,000 and then lost a large pot to Chul Woo Jung.

There was already about 45,000 in the pot of a 5♣ 7♣ 9♥ 6♦ 7♠ board and Choi bet 20,000 from the big blind. Jung was on the cutoff and thought for a few moments before calling. When he did, Choi showed 6♥ 3♣ for two pair but Jung showed a bigger two pair with K♦ 9♠ .

Jung was up to 175,000 and then a good call put him over 200,000.

Jung raised to 8,000 from the hijack and the small blind called, bringing a [5]2♦ 9♥ flop. Jung bet 15,500 when checked to and his opponent quickly called.

Action slowed down when the J♦ came on the turn and Jung checked behind his opponent. A 5♥ completed the board and the small blind bet 12,000. Jung thought for about a minute before verbally announcing the call.

The small blind turned over 6♠ 4♦ for pure air and Jung took down the pot with 8♣ 8♠ . Jung became the first player to break the 200,000 chip mark and took the lead with about 40 players to go.

The field then quickly continued to shrink, partly thanks to Team PokerStars Pro Vivian Im.

Im has continued to chip up and knock players out. In one instance, Im called an all-in with K♠ Q♥ and was up against A♦ 8♠ .

The board ran 9♣ 6♦ 2♥ K♣ 5♥ , Im knocked out another opponent and chipped up to 135,000. There are now 32 players left and 24 will advance to Day 2.

Out of those 32, there are two women left. Aside from Im, Percy Yung is still in the field but is short with about 20,000.

Yung bubbled Day 1A and is now a few players short of reaching the bubble again.

We’re getting there.
