With the summer heat producing tans we’ve been spreading a little sunshine of our own with PokerStars Touch, an exciting new initiative in which handpicked newcomers enjoy more than a touch of value with a free introduction to the game and the opportunity to win an all-expenses-paid VIP package to an EPT Main Event.
The action has only just kicked off but participants have already received a free copy of Daniel Negreanu’s strategy book Hold’em Wisdom, as well as exclusive training from members of Team PokerStars Online, including Portuguese pro André ‘acoimbra’ Coimbra.
There was no delay as our poker ‘noobs’ were invited to put their training to the test in two online Hold’em tournaments. First blood went to Mister International Netherlands finalist Danny Wieland, while British singer/songwriter Luke Bingham emerged as sole survivor for Round 2.
#Yeah I won the #Pokerstarstouch training :).. 1ste place 🙂 @PokerStars good heads up at the end..

Most recently PokerStars added a touch of Frost to the play as Tyler ‘frosty012’ Frost took on our rookies in an exclusive Sit & Go. But despite the presence of a Team Online member it was professional gamer Stephanie Harvey of Canada who reigned supreme.
Won the first @PokerStars Touch practice tournament I played in! Thanks to @frosty012 for the coaching! //t.co/vDZBHngLWa

A total of 25 sports and gaming enthusiasts from around the globe have accepted our challenge. Here’s just a few of the gang:
Matt Buckland – @ElSatanico
London-based recruiter and part-time magician.
Tiago Carossi – @TiagoCarossi
Brazil-based digital communication expert.
Andrew Goldenberg – @CoderAndrew
Canadian computer coder and self-confessed “gadget geek”.
So far we’ve just given them a taste of what’s in store, but there’s plenty of added treats lying in wait around the corner with further tournaments, training, insights and more. You can follow the progress of Team Touch by following them on Twitter and checking back with PokerStars Blog next week.
