Brazil’s CharlesUlman appeared bulletproof at the final table. Didn’t matter if you were ahead of CharlesUlman or not. By the time the river card was dealt, CharlesUlman was always holding the best hand. Once it was down to the final two players, ante8888 seized the lead and built up a sizable advantage. Like an overconfident Bond villain, ante8888 foolishly thought that victory in Event #84 was imminent. Alas, CharlesUlman was waiting to dig himself a huge hole before mounting a stunning and dramatic comeback by winning 10 out of the final 12 hands. ante8888 could not hold off a late surge from CharlesUlman, who went on to win Event #84 by brutally snapping off pocket Aces with K♥ 10♣ .

MicroMillions 8 Event #84 $8.80 NL Hold’em attracted 10,678 runners and a prize pool worth $85,424.00. The top 1,350 places paid out, with $12,205.01 set aside to the eventual champion.

PokerStars Team Pro Marcel Luske embarked on a deep run. The amicable Dutch pro cashed in 382nd place for $29.89.

The final table commenced during Level 48 with blinds at 150K/300K and a 50K ante. Croatia’s ante8888 held the lead with 9.3M, meanwhile, LuckyPoI{er clung onto the short stack with 2.3M.

AbramovRus eliminated in 9th place

OSP677 min-raised to 600,000, AbramovRus moved all-in for 2,712,266, and OSP677 called. Classic race. AbramovRus’s 7♦ 7♥ versus OSP677’s A♣ Jâ™  . The board ran out A♦ 5♥ 3♣ 8♣ 9♦ . The A♦ on the flop sunk AbramovRus’s hopes and OSP677 took the lead with a pair of Aces. AbramovRus failed to improve and busted out in ninth place, which paid out $597.96. AbramovRus became the first player to get knocked out of the final table.

LuckyPoI{er eliminated in 8th place

CharlesUlman min-raised to 800,000, LuckyPoI{er bombed it all-in for 1,546,983 with 4♠ 4♦ , and CharlesUlman called with 10♠ 10♦ . The board ran out 7♣ 2♥ 2♣ A♥ 7♦ . CharlesUlman won the pot with a better two pair. For an eighth-place finish, LuckyPoI{er collected $939.66.

drzewo85 eliminated in 7th place

CharlesUlman min-raied to 800,000, drzewo85 shoved for 4,615,256 with 6♣ 6♥ , and CharlesUlman called with Aâ™  J♣ . Another race. The board ran out 5♣ 3♦ 2â™  A♦ 10â™  . Both players flopped a straight draw, but neither would get there. CharlesUlman took the lead after turning a pair of Aces, which held up. Poland’s drzewo85 was knocked out in seventh place, which paid out $1,708.48.

With six players remaining, CharlesUlman was out in front with 18M and chica220 was last with 5M.

MasterIwan eliminated in 6th place

Short-stacked MasterIwan bit the dust. MasterIwan moved all-in for 561,551. Both jack17_at and OSP677 called. They also checked it all the way down to the river. The board finished up K♣ J♥ 7♣ K♠ 6♠ .

MasterIwan flopped a gutshot, but failed to improve. OSP677 won the pot with two pair — Kings and tens. For sixth place, MasterIwan earned $2,562.72.

chica220 eliminated in 5th place

Short-stacked chica220 moved all-in for 4,640,752 and made a final stand with 8♣ 7♦ . CharlesUlman attempted to pick off chica220 with A♦ J♣ . The flop was 7♠ 5♦ 3♥ and chica220 took the lead with a pair of sevens. The turn was the K♣ , but the A♥ on the river gave CharlesUlman a pair of Aces, which was good enough to win the pot. Alas, chica220 was knocked out in fifth place, which paid out $3,416.96.

jack17 eliminated in 4th place

CharlesUlman was ready to take down another opponent. This time, jack17_at attempted to double up after bombing it all-in for 6,539,908 with Aâ™  7♥ , but CharlesUlman called with K♣ 8♣ . CharlesUlman was behind but that did not matter. The board ran out Jâ™  10â™  7♦ K♥ 6♦ . jack17_at actually improved to a pair of sevens on the flop, but CharlesUlman turned a pair of Kings, which would hold up to win the pot. Austria’s jack17_at busted in fourth place, which paid out $4,271.20.

With three remaining in the hunt, CharlesUlman held a sizable advantage with 36.1M compared to 8.6M apiece between OSP677 and ante8888.

OSP677 eliminated in 3rd place

OSP677 open-shoved for 2,436,801 with A♥ 6♦ , and ante8888 called with 5♥ 5♣ . OSP677 was racing with two overcards. The board finished up 9♣ 9♦ 3♦ 7â™  10♣ . ante8888 won the pot with two pair — nines and fives. OSP677 lost a flip and was knocked out in third place, which paid out $6,359.81.

With two remaining, CharlesUlman held the lead 32M-21M. ante888 on the first four hands of heads-up to pull within even. All of a sudden it was a deadlocked heads-up.
At one juncture, opened up a lead 41M to 12M. However, CharlesUlman went on a heater to win 10 out of the final 12 hands. CharlesUlman quickly closed the gap and even took the lead going into the final hand with 27.5M versus ante8888’s 25.8M.

ante8888 eliminated in 2nd place; CharlesUlman wins Event #84!

Time for a massive pot. ante8888 min-raised to 2.8M, CharlesUlman shoved for 27,374,904, and ante8888 called all-in for 22,865,096. CharlesUlman was in deep trouble with K♥ 10♣ against ante8888’s A♣ A♦ . The flop was K♦ Q♣ 4♥ and CharlesUlman improved to a pair of Kings, but was still trailing ante8888’s Aces. The turn was the 2♣ but the K♣ spiked on the river, sealing ante888’s fate. Alas, CharlesUlman rivered trip Kings to crack pocket Aces. Ouch.

A stunned ante8888 busted out in second place, which paid out $8,969.52.

Congrats to Brazil’s CharlesUlman for becoming the newest MicroMillions champion and binking Event #84. First place paid out an impressive $12,205.01 ROI on a mere $8.80 investment.
