Home / Uncategorized / EPT11 London: No soft spots as High Rollers get underway

Moments after the Main Event re-started Team Pro Online Mikey Petersen was out and seeking to parlay the £11,400 earned in the main feature in the £10,000 High Roller event which starts today. It was only when he got there that he rued his luck at having drawn a table full of all stars.

But looking at the starting field this afternoon it’s hard to see which table Petersen would have preferred.

He sits at the same table as Isaac Haxton, Sam Greenwood and Pratyush Buddiga. Meanwhile the rest of the field is made up of exactly who you think it would be, the type of players who use poker trophies as doorstops.

So while he Main Event plays on in the Grand Hall, the High Rollers will occupy the side room for the duration of today, the first of three days. Currently the prize pool is £499,800, which is almost exactly what the Main Event pays for first. However, with players entitled to a single re-entry that number is likely to increase.
